The Story

This is Domaine Saint Gayan's red Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a historical bottling from a parcel the family worked in red wine for three decades. It belongs to the estate's tradition of characterful southern Rhône reds.

The Meffre family has deep roots in Rhône winegrowing. Domaine Saint Gayan combines generations of experience with a traditional approach to maturing its reds, giving the wines time to develop in its underground cellar.

Place & Terroir

Châteauneuf-du-Pape's warm southern Rhône setting shapes generous, structured red wines. Saint Gayan's former red-wine parcel was later replanted for a white cuvée; the red bottling here comes from the earlier chapter of that vineyard's history.

Perfect Pairings

Braised lamb, beef daube, roast duck, wild mushrooms or aged hard cheese.

Serve around 16–18°C. For older bottles, stand upright before opening and decant gently only if needed for sediment.
