Description
In the Glass
The Story
Casetta Barbaresco Riserva 2004 is a mature Nebbiolo from the Langhe. At this age, careful storage and bottle condition are central to the experience; open thoughtfully and allow the wine to reveal its developed character in the glass.
The Producer

Fratelli Casetta is based in Vezza d'Alba in the Roero, where the family traces its local roots to 1725. Its range spans the Langhe and Roero, with Nebbiolo central to its Barolo and Barbaresco wines.
The producer describes traditional maturation of its great reds in oak casks in the underground cellar, allowing the wines to develop before bottling.
Place & Terroir
Barbaresco lies in the Langhe hills of Piedmont. Casetta describes its Barbaresco vineyards in terms of calcareous marl, clay and sand, a landscape where Nebbiolo develops perfume, acidity and structure.
Perfect Pairings
Truffle pasta, mushroom risotto, gently braised beef or mature hard cheese.
Serve around 16–18°C. Stand the bottle upright before opening; pour gently and use a slow decant only if sediment requires it.
Worth Knowing
At more than two decades old, bottle storage is at least as important as published general vintage expectations.
